“The Hills” — When One Door Closes
Picture via MTV.com
I set my DVR to start recording with 50 minutes until the finale, just so I could be sure to catch all of action. I didn’t want to miss anything.
So, the first commercial break arrives and there’s Whitney on the red carpet. She seemed to be the most real and unposey of all of them.
Speaking of posey and I’m not talking about Parker, Heidi is up next. She’s got her back to the cameras with her face tossed over her shoulder. If you’re going to pay that much for your boobs, at least show them off. Fast forward to Audrina. I love how she says for this kind of stuff she goes shopping and gets her hair and makeup done. As if MTV doesn’t provide all of that. Finally, Lauren shows up. Now, I love Lauren. I’m a member of Team Lauren. But her red carpet smile? Ridiculous.
Also ridiculous are the hosts. I know they are on “The After Show,” but why? How did they get jobs? Anyway. I will give the cast props. Their responses to all of the questions were all very diplomatic. They were obviously practicing their lines. I do find it funny when Lauren says a little part of her misses J-Bob [NOTE: that's Justin/Bobby/Justin-Bobby for those keeping score at home]. Too bad we couldn’t see him on the red carpet.
OK. It’s time for the finale.
I can sum it up in 3 sentences.
- Lauren think she doesn’t get to go Paris, again.
- Heidi needs to go home for some space.
- Lauren finally gets to go to Paris.
We waited all season for that???
BUT WAIT. There’s the big announcement Lauren is set to reveal in the aftershow.
Will she finally find love? Will she move to NYC? Will she bob her hair?
Let’s find out!
The little episode recap they made that looks like a comic is OK, but it pales in comparison to the genius that was the clips of Audrina and JB to Boyz II Men’s “End of the Road.” I also liked the little music video they made with the audio snippets.
Audrina and Whitney joins us first. What’s up with the hosts drawing on the screen? Is that what “The After Show” does? If so, I’m glad I don’t watch. Then the couple comes on with the web cam and the life size homage to Justin Bobby. How hilarious.
Lauren is here. I am thinking Heidi’s one appearance was on the red carpet, because she’s certainly not going to come sit by Lauren. That seat is reserved for Brody. So he comes out and it’s time for the big announcement!
Drum roll please. This season of “The Hills” is not over. They’re picking up soon and you get to see their trip to Paris.
ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?
I watched. I’m hooked. Am I a sucker? Maybe. But show me some sparkly dresses and Paris à la the last season of Sex and the City and I’m all in.
Bisous bisous!
