Pulling into the station…
I’ve seen a lot of shocking moments on The Sopranos over the years, but I don’t think anything prepared me for the moment last night when Vito and Johnnycakes are about to GET-IT-ON only for them to cut to–yes– Bobby’s model train zipping into the tunnel. It was easily one of the funniest moments in the shows history and made absolutely no sense aesthetically.

Re: Big Love
I nominate the most recent episode of Big Love and TV’s “Most Akward Sex Scene.” Will anyone second this nomination for the sake of discussion, or should we just table it?
Really? I still feel uncomfortable. uhhh

….and TV does matter!

Until I think of something better (which may or may not exist), I’m inclined to agree with you. Moreso, I really need to post about Big Love because I’ve become quite fond of it, despite the fact that it took many weeks to get to this point. If anything, what kept me watching was the premise– which usually doesn’t pan out. Sure, Lost had a great hook, but if it hadn’t delivered on that hook people would have tuned out. Big Love is just endlessly intriguing as a concept, likely because we can all find a character to relate to, and yet find the situation utterly unrelatable.
And TV better matter, or I’m investing wayyyyy too much of my free time to this project.
PS! Back to the sex scene, I must also say (as I’ve been trying to bring this up on Recoil for months but never got around to it) that TV’s best sex scene was in either the first or second season of Scrubs and was this crazy set-piece involving JD and Elliot making out in his apartment and then ripping each others clothes off– it sticks out in my mind because it was also really long and the song “Dreaming of You” by The Coral played in its entirety. Kinda awesome. If anyone knows what season and/or episode that was, let me know as I’d like to download it.

Ok, yes the hook on Big Love is undeniable. I find my self feeling guilty for watching it, but still really liking it. A lot.
Re: Scrubs
LOVE the show. I wish it could be “On Demand”. Apparently there is so much I have missed!
There was an episode, and of course I don’t remember the premise, where JD states that the best comeback to anything is “So’s your face.”
example: That’s stupid.
Comback: So’s your face
example: This sucks.
Comback: So’s your face
It doesn’t make sense in every situation. Which makes it even funnier. To me, at least.
….and, since there is no MTV section to post (which is good,) did you ever watch Clone High, on MTV? The first 4 episiodes were great. Then it became horrible, and was finally taken off the air because it was too painful to watch. Anyway as the say in A.C.T.s:
as Strangers with Candy is to Rick
Clone High is to Steph!
…and I love this site. I love T.V. weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
thanks!
