“Veronica Mars” CANCELED + “Veronica Mars” season 4 spoilers! (???)

Veronica MarsLots of madness brewin’ this morning on the V-Mars front. Let’s start with the bad news:

According to Kristin Veitch over at E! Online Veronica Mars has been canceled by The CW, though no official statement has been made by the network. Her information comes from “several solid sources.” Personally, I won’t be hosting the wake until someone in a suit gives the official execution orders and the phone call from the governor never comes.

For those who like to stay on the positive side of things, the Hollywood Reporter says series creator Rob Thomas (not that Rob Thomas) has come up with an idea for the fourth season in which the series flashes forward several years and follows Veronica as she works her way through the FBI academy. The idea isn’t just cool, but makes practical sense as Kristin Bell is 26 years old.

UPDATE! Looks like Kristin’s “several solid sources” have nothing on the actual suits at The CW who say V-Mars is safe (for now) and will likely come back in its new FBI format. Final decisions will come at the CW upfront May 17th.

    Hey AICN is now reporting that Hollywood Reporter has retracted the “Canceled” bit, and that when asked Rob Thomas has no idea what they are talking about.
