“Heroes” — Landslide
Show lots of things happenin’ at once…MONTAGE!
First and foremost, how lame is it that Nathan Petrelli uses “All Night Long”* “All Right Now” as his campaign song when the episode is called “Landslide” and we all know that Fleetwood Mac make for the best political celebrations. But enough of about that, I’m totally swamped so let’s get right to the good stuff (after the break…).
Very solid episode all the way around, probably because so many characters had a role to play. First the negatives: Micah has got to go. I’m sorry, but that kid is Jake Lloyd awful. Also its a shame that even though the character has been absent for twelve weeks Clea Duvall’s FBI agent is still a complete moron and cookie-cutter suit.
That being said, Parkman had his best scene ever with the security guard, and who didn’t go “ewww” when Linderman got a fist to the back of the head — rather through the back of the head.
Though if this episode did anything, and it did a lot in preparation of next week’s 2-hour finale, it served as a cautionary tale against the use of electronic voting machines without paper trails during elections. All this time we thought the bad guys were Linderman and Sylar, but as it turns out it was actually Diebold.

The song Nathan Petrelli used was Free’s “All Right Now” not “All Night Long.” Though I think it would be awesome for a politician to use the smooth, sexy sounds of Lionel Richie in their campaign.

And next week’s finale is only one hour.

Wow, I would make an absolutely horrible contestant on The Singing Bee. Honestly, for years I thought they were saying “All night long” — I even looked up the Dazed and Confused soundtrack (a record I have somewhere in my room) to see if I was correct — is it even on that record, or am I making that up too? Maybe next time I should kiss this guy.
As for the two-hour finale, that was just a blantant mistake — though I would argue that a 23 episode season doesn’t really make much sense. Why not have a two-hour finale?
Thanks for keeping me on my toes.

here’s what didn’t make sense, and i noticed it before the EW reviewer did. First of all, it was still daytime when they announced that Petrelli won by a landslide, even though polls don’t close until 9. Second, he jumped about 30 percentage points in about one minute and it didn’t seem suspicious to anyone? Other than that… pretty good. What’s not to love about George Takae (not bothering to check for the correct spelling) wielding a samurai sword?

and I am going to say that Hiro froze time for a few weeks while they trained… I don’t buy that he got that good in a few hours.
